- Fighting for Working Families and Seniors -
The cost of living in Skagit County is becoming increasingly unsustainable. Hannah will fight to add affordable housing, and lower costs for our working families and seniors. Our residents deserve the opportunity to grow up, receive a quality education, secure good-paying jobs, afford a good home, and eventually retire in the community they call home.
- Transportation, The Environment & Public Health -
Creating safe & walkable neighborhoods, expanding accessible pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, and improving public transit are among Hannah’s top priorities. Enhancing public and active transportation options promotes better public health, protects the environment, helps reduce traffic congestion citywide and saves families money. The residents of Mount Vernon deserve to live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives in a community designed for safety and sustainability.
- Protecting our Farms, Forests and Waterways -
The environment is one of the key things that makes Skagit County so special, and Hannah is committed to keeping it a top priority in every decision the council makes. Food is essential to our survival, and we must ensure that our farms remain strong for generations. We must prevent pollutants from entering our air, water, and soil so current and future generations can enjoy the outdoors, eat safe & healthy food, and ensure that the workers who harvest local crops can do so safely.
- Supporting Immigrants -
Coming from an immigrant family, Hannah understands the importance of fairness and dignity for all. Our Constitution protects the rights of everyone within our borders, regardless of citizenship status, and Hannah will uphold those protections. Immigrants deserve the opportunity to live and thrive in Mount Vernon, just like anyone else.
- Supporting Small Businesses -
Small businesses are the backbone of Skagit County’s economy and a vital part of what makes our community vibrant and unique. Hannah believes in creating an environment where local businesses can start, grow, and thrive. By investing in local entrepreneurship, and prioritizing locally owned small businesses we can ensure our small businesses and local economy can succeed. When we support small businesses, we’re not just strengthening our economy but also investing in our neighbors, our downtowns, and the future of Mount Vernon.
